Hurrah! I'm onto week four of my weight loss! This means that my body has finally adjusted to the idea of less food every day and I stop feeling tired and cranky and can just get on with things. Every time I've done this I've found it's taken three weeks to get to this point. I guess it's just some physiological thing.
This week my weightloss dipped into 3kg, though it went back to 2kg when I started drinking the amount of water I'm supposed to. 2kg in three weeks is way enough for me so I'm happy to wait a couple more weeks for the next one. Last time I found that I very consistently lost 2-3kg a month, looks like it's still about the same this time.
Had a very up and down week. Everything was full on at work because we were working towards a deadline it looked like we might make. It also turned out that the house we were trying to buy fell through, which sucks big time for us because we have already paid for searches, surveys and solicitor time. I have to confess to a little comfort eating today as I processed the disappointment. I'm going to have to be careful this doesn't derail my good progress so far. Last time I ended up in a negative feedback loop where comfort eating made me feel bad about eating the wrong thing which made me feel even worse about whatever it was I was actually feeling bad about. Must avoid that this time. Hopefully I am going to be back here this time next week telling you how well it all went. :)
Have found some solace in the fact that we're not going to lose our satellite TV just when there's a new season of Castle on. Silliest reason ever to not want to move (specially considering I've ordered the DVDs from America) but works for me. Hopefully will think of a few other things to be glad of in the next few days. :)
I went to a course about meditation today. I want to try it as a way of managing stress. It was nice feeling so chilled out all day after the session. It really made me realise how tired I am though! I met up with Joe and spent about an hour wandering around a Japanese festival and then dragged myself back home and spent the rest of the afternoon and evening on the couch.
The hard part is going to be giving it 20 minutes every day. Am going to try it as soon as I get up, though I don't have a good track record for doing things in the morning. Should help with how cranky I am when I first get up!
Joined the gym again last week too. They sent me an email telling me how much they missed me and offered me a really cheap rate. It's in my work building so it's really convenient to just head down at lunch. Am going to do this as a healthy mind thing rather than a healthy body thing because I find that it helps keep me relaxed.
